About

Occupy Fall River is an assembly formed for and by the People. Occupy Fall River has formed to create a process with which the People can take charge of their government and reclaim their communities. While we do believe there is much to protest about, Occupy Fall River is not only a protest. It exists for you, our community, in an endeavor to restore our city to greatness. United we stand. Divided we fall. We hope to appeal to the imaginations of all of our city’s residents in envisioning a better future. We realize that we are all in this together. We are the 99%.

Occupy Fall River functions without leadership positions through direct democracy, which is considered to be the People’s Democracy. Occupy Fall River assemblies are completely open for everyone to join, make proposals to, vote at, and speak.

By consensus, Occupy Fall River is a peaceful, non-violent, non-destructive, and non-discriminating assembly

Currently, General Assemblies occur every Sunday, and occasionally throughout the week. The main method of communication is through GoogleGroup. We currently meet at 5:30 PM on Wednesdays. The location of meetings varies, and GAs typically meet at either the UNFR offices (4th floor, G & J Building at 209 Bedford St.) and the Fall River Main Public Library.

Currently, we are small in number, which is why we need your help. Feel free to post suggestions, thoughts, or ideas on the Vision page.
